Charles "Chuck" Wright, developer of the Measurements Engineering Department for a leading satellite manufacturer, has three decades of direct and successful experience in the design and operation of advanced multichannel, computer-driven measurement systems for test and evaluation. Areas of deep expertise include system design for the provision of valid mechanical engineering test data from long term DC through 250 kHz. He developed the Knowledge-based measurement system concept as the highest expression of systems design and operational performance. In addition, he has publishing 60+ technical papers on measurement system design, operation, and test process improvement.
The Applied Measurements Engineering Short Course was developed by Mr. Wright and has been delivered all over the United States to engineers and managers from the aerospace, automotive, weapons, electronics, audio, and transportation industries, several national laboratories, as well as academic venues including UCLA and the University of Colorado.
He regularly teaches at Sensors Expo, the Aerospace Testing Seminar and for Stein Engineering Services. Mr. Wright has been honored to have twice been chairman of the Western Regional Strain Gage Committee, a technical committee of the Society for Experimental Mechanics.
As contributing editor of Personal Engineering and Instrumentation News, he has published 40+ bimonthly expert columns on Data Acquisition since 1991. Prentice Hall published his book Applied Measurement Engineering -- How to Design Effective Mechanical Measurement Systems in 1995 (picture).
