- Work included application of strain gages and other engineering
sensors to the development, certification and investigation of field problems of small gas turbines, both auxiliary and primary propulsion units. This included structural testing, lab vibration testing, component and full-up engine testing. Responsibilities included test planning, instrumentation design and installation, test engine build, test data acquisition, data reduction and interpretation. - Strain gage applications included static structures, compressors and turbines, shafting, bearings, seals and a wide variety of special strain gage-based transducers. Test temperatures ranged from cold soak to 1800+ deg F in high acceleration environments.

Instructor for the Strain Gage Course under JACMET, a cooperative effort between Arizona State University and Arizona corporations to promote continuing education for employees in technical fields.
