Michael Violette is a registered Professional Engineer and an
iNARTE-Certified EMC Engineer. He has over 25 years of experience in
the Laboratory Operations, EMC Design, Measurements and
Troubleshooting. He has performed hundreds of EMC Tests and has
experience in Grounding, Shielding, Transient Protection, Lightning,
PCB Design and Power Supply design to meet commercial, industrial, DoD
and Aerospace requirements. He is co-author of "The Electromagnetic
Compatibility Handbook" published by Van Nostrand Reinhold and has
written numerous technical and industry articles on subjects ranging
from regulatory requirements for export to design, test and
troubleshooting of electric and electronic equipment.
Mr. Violette has overseen expansion of certification programs to
Taiwan and China and is engaged in international efforts for
harmonizing product testing and design standards. He participates on
industry standards development organizations (ANSI C63) and is on the
board of directors of the International Association of Radio and
Telecommunications Engineers and the American Council of Independent
Laboratories.
He has developed test programs for use in collection of measurement data that is used in the testing of Military, Radio and Industrial Process equipment. Experience includes measurement and troubleshooting in nuclear, alternative energy and power generation. He has launch vehicle and aerospace EMC experience, working on NASA programs, providing prediction and control of RF effect for rocket systems and orbital platforms.
Mr. Violette is joined by the Washington Laboratories (www.wll.com) team of dedicated professionals with experience in Space Systems Design for EMC, TEMPEST engineering, Commercial R&D and related disciplines.
