Aircraft
For 15 years, ERI instructors have been helping aircraft engineers measure, analyze and understand in-flight and in-storage environments in terms of potential damage to aircraft electronic and other equipment. And to use that understanding to develop more rugged aircraft products. And to implement appropriate environmental tests so that failures will occur in the lab, not in flight.
Climatic environmental tests? Mostly climatic chambers stressing aircraft hardware with hot and cold temperature extremes, humidity, sunlight, sand-and-dust, sometimes salt spray, altitude.
Dynamic environmental tests? Our greatest emphasis has been on mechanical shocks, also sinusoidal and random vibration.
Don’t engineers study these subjects in college? Most such university instruction deals with mathematics and theory. Little if any instruction deals with the practical matters that many engineers need, and for which ERI is justly famous.
Here are outlines whose variations have been given onsite to numerous aircraft and aircraft parts manufactures:
- CLI 540 - Fundamentals of Climatics Testing, ESS, HALT & HASS
- COOL 514 - POD Thermal Management
- V&S 510 - Aerospace Vibration and Shock Testing, Measurement, Analysis and Calibration also HALT, ESS and HASS
Let us know if your organization would like a proposal for onsite training. Or if an individual would like to join one of our open courses.
